Scripture + Affirmation:
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)
“And we all… contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory…”
Affirmation:
I am not called to absorb the glory—I am called to reflect it.
Devotional Reflection:
There’s a subtle pull many of us feel—to hold onto the credit, to carry the honor, to wear pride like a badge. Words like glory, treasure, jewel, boast—they invite us to gather attention and keep it.
But reflection calls us to something different.
Reflection says: pause.
Reflection says: examine.
Reflection says: don’t hold it—redirect it.
When light hits a mirror, the mirror doesn’t keep it. It sends it back. And that’s the posture we’re invited into. Every gift, every opportunity, every moment where we could say “look at me”—we instead get to say, “look at Him.”
This doesn’t diminish your value—it actually clarifies it. You are valuable not because you hold the glory, but because you carry it well enough to reflect it.
So today, instead of absorbing the moment, reflect it. Let your life be the evidence of His goodness, not a container for your own applause.
Reflection Question:
Where in my life am I tempted to absorb recognition instead of reflecting it back to God?
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, teach me to live with a reflective heart. When recognition comes, help me to redirect it. Shape me into someone who carries Your glory with humility and releases it with intention. Amen.
Journaling Challenge:
Write down 3 recent moments where you received recognition, praise, or success. Next to each one, rewrite the moment as a reflection—how did God show up in it?
